March Break Reads

If you haven’t already stopped by…  do drop in today to pick up that book you’ve been waiting to find time to read.

We have some interesting new picks out on display…  or perhaps you’re more interested in something classic?  There’s something for everyone…

  • If you haven’t quite finished those White Pine books, pick up a few.  I’m on my last one and enjoying it immensely.
  • Remember to enter a Just Read It! recommendation for all of your books.  Be entered into the monthly book prize draw.

We’re Open Again…

I didn’t get a chance to post this morning, but there was a note on the door and an announcement…

We’re open again!  Our wonderful workshops on Gender have concluded, and we’ll be open now until the end of the day.

For those of you who participated in the workshops our presenter, Jill Andrew from the TDSB Equity Department, can be contacted at Jill.Andrew (at) tdsb.on.ca.

Please feel free to talk to any of the teachers involved as well is if you have any questions about anything that came up, or would like some information.

Red Emma

Get ready to celebrate International Women’s Day, this Sunday, March 8th.

Early Bird Books has a deal on Red Emma Speaks, as their Women’s History Month Pick: Emma Goldman became a household name in the 1900s for her writing and speeches. This is the perfect month to learn about an early pioneer for women’s rights.

This, and more, in their latest e-flyer.

Also…  do be sure to drop by the Library and check out the International Women’s Day Book Display.

Crazy Day

THANK YOU to everyone for your going with the flow today with the crazy mixed up day – and very limited Library access – while we were hosting the staff and students from KKSA in our Library on account of the power failure at their school.

We don’t yet know whether or not we may have to host them again tomorrow…  listen for an announcement and watch for a note on the Library door.
