National Poetry Month: Poem of the Day

Our poem of the day for today is: Wolf Lake by Elizabeth Bachinsky…  which is always a favourite of students competing in Poetry in Voice.

“It was down that road he brought me, still
in the trunk of his car. I won’t say it felt right,
but it did feel expected. The way you know
your blood can spring like a hydrant…”

Born in Regina, Saskatchewan, her book of poetry, Home of a Sudden Service, was nominated for a Governor General’s Award.  Ms. Bachinsky is the editor of the literary journal EVENT.
