Today in the Library

The wonderful folks from the IBBY Book Project at the Toronto Public Library will be here after lunch to work with the students in the Grade 9 Visual Arts Elective course.

  • IBBY books are special books designed for young people with disabilities.
  • A fundamental goal of the IBBY Book Project is to: give children everywhere access to books with high literary and artistic standards, including young people with disabilities.
  • While IBBY Books come in a variety of formats, today we will be focusing on working with tactile books.

While the Library will not be closed, students on spare are asked to contain themselves to the upper level of the library while the session is taking place.

Catching Up: with Don Aker

We had a delightful afternoon here in the Library yesterday afternoon… with another one of ESA’s favourite Visiting Authors…  Don Aker.

Don wanted me to pass along this message to the students who were in attendance:

And please pass along to your students how much I enjoyed presenting to them. What incredibly attentive audiences they were. Once again, they made me wish I taught at ESA.

Library Access: Tuesday September 26th

Given the heat and humidity in the building… the Library will be OPEN again all day today… including for eating lunch over the lunchhour.

While we are obviously not able to accommodate the entire school population at once, we will let in as many people as we are able to.

o   Seeking refuge in the Library in shifts would be greatly appreciated.

We will be moving our Grade 9 Orientation session to the back of the Library during Period 8… so please be mindful and work quietly so as not to disrupt.
